Peace is my Tai Chi Practice

People often ask what creates the space for energy and vitality to keep me going each day, and they cannot believe when I respond…Tai Chi! It seems unbelievable that a slow, gentle movement pattern can do such a big task. Guess again!

Magnifying Peace Project, Video #8, Tai Chi in the woods shares a little of the beauty, tranquility, serenity, connection, and sunshine that can feed your soul, elevate your mood, and bring a bit of chaos into order. For over thirty years I have studied and embodied the gifts of Tai Chi to support my mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. I love to find unique places to do a Tai Chi set and my favourite are in the woods, at the beach, or in my backyard.

As you consider the stress of the weight of the world on your shoulders, how are you supporting your body to release that stress? Do you have a movement plan that keeps you engaging and calming the nervous system? Do you have a group of people you love to gather with and share healing time?

As the volunteer instructor for Tai Chi Cape Breton, it is my distinct pleasure to support classes in Inverness County throughout the week. We enjoy connection, building community, supporting each other’s health challenges, finding relief from pain, sleeping better, lifting our moods, and leaving our practice feeling more peace than we did coming through the door.

Are you looking for something like this to help you feel, move, and live better? Consider our online or in-person classes at the Greenwell Center. And, I, Dr Michelle Greenwell PhD CIH BioEW, would be thrilled to have you join us. If you live in the West Kelowna, BC area, or Summerland, check out the classes for Wine Country Tai Chi Society and watch for the Tai Chi Wellness Retreat in March 2026.
