At the Greenwell Center, our mission is to support whole-person wellness—body, mind, and energy—through practices that integrate science, art, and lived experience. Central to this work is Dr Michelle Greenwell’s long-standing relationship with the Canadian Association of BioEnergetic Wellness (CanBeWell), an organization that brings together dedicated practitioners across Canada and around the world to share knowledge, research, and practical tools that empower people in their everyday lives.
Through CanBeWell, she has had the privilege of collaborating with incredible colleagues who are passionate about energy activation techniques and balance practices. These tools are designed to help people connect with their own internal wisdom, release tension, and cultivate resilience—supporting wellness before symptoms or challenges arise. Together, we are committed to making these practices accessible, evidence-informed, and adaptable to every lifestyle.
Sharing the CanBeWell Public Newsletter with tips and tools with monthly health themes is also a great opportunity to highlight how BioEnergetic Wellness techniques can help everyday.

Embodying Wellness Through Retreat and Movement
One of the highlights of the year at the Greenwell Center is the Artfilled Wellness Retreat, taking place this August on beautiful Cape Breton Island. This immersive eight-day experience combines movement, music, art, nature, and bioenergetic practices to provide a full-spectrum approach to wellness. Participants engage in energy balancing exercises, mindful movement, creative expression, and restorative experiences, leaving with practical tools to integrate wellness into daily life.
Retreats like this are a chance to step away from routine, reconnect with ourselves, and experience wellness as embodied practice. They are also an opportunity to engage with a global community of practitioners who share knowledge, guidance, and inspiration.
Celebrating World Tai Chi and Qi Gong Day
April marks World Tai Chi and Qi Gong Day, an annual celebration of movement, mindfulness, and energy awareness. This year, our class in Baddeck will come together to honor these practices, demonstrating how small daily movements can profoundly support posture, balance, energy flow, and mental clarity.
Tai Chi and Qi Gong are more than exercise—they are living examples of integration, balance, and embodied awareness. By participating, we strengthen the connection between mind, body, and energy, while fostering community and collective wellbeing.
A Collaborative Vision for Wellness
Through my work with CanBeWell, the Greenwell Center continues to foster collaboration across borders. Practitioners from Canada and beyond contribute to energy activation workshops, educational programming, and hands-on guidance, helping participants develop practices tailored to their unique needs. This network of colleagues enriches the community experience, ensuring that wellness is both personal and shared.
The collective aim is clear: to move from reactive care to proactive, daily support of our health and vitality. Whether through energy balancing exercises, mindful movement, or creative engagement, these tools help people regulate stress, restore energy, and cultivate resilience before challenges arise.
