During Migraine Awareness Month, we’ve been exploring a powerful truth: healing is often found in the small things we do consistently.
While many people search for a single solution to improve their health and wellbeing, lasting change is often built through simple daily practices that help us listen to our bodies, regulate stress, and create moments of awareness throughout the day.
This month on the Be Well with Dr. Michelle Greenwell podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with Tanya Levy and Marian Egan about the role of creativity, intuition, colour, frequency, and BioEnergetic Wellness tools in supporting health and wellness. What emerged from our conversation was a reminder that healing doesn’t have to be complicated.
Sometimes it begins with a card.
Sometimes it begins with a picture.
Sometimes it begins with a question.
And sometimes it begins with giving ourselves permission to pause and listen.
Why Daily Self-Care Matters
Many people living with migraines, chronic stress, fatigue, pain, or emotional overwhelm struggle with consistency. When symptoms are present, it can feel difficult to know what to do or where to begin.
This is where practical wellness tools become valuable.
The most effective self-care practices are often those that are:
- Easy to access
- Simple to understand
- Flexible enough to use anywhere
- Adaptable to your current energy level
- Supportive of awareness and self-reflection
When used regularly, these tools help build habits that support nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and greater body awareness.
A Cup of Change: Mission4Change CommuniTEA
One of the simplest self-care habits we can create is taking a few moments to pause with a cup of tea.
During our podcast conversation with Tanya Levy and Marian Egan, we featured Mission4Change CommuniTEA from the Cape Breton Tea Company. Its affirmation reminds us:
“In community we are empowered for change.”
This gentle herbal blend was created as a reminder that healing does not happen in isolation. Whether we are recovering from migraines, managing stress, navigating life transitions, or simply trying to create healthier habits, we are strengthened through connection—with ourselves, with nature, and with others.
Two ingredients in this blend beautifully reflect that message.
Lavender – The Essence of Inner Peace
Lavender has long been associated with relaxation, calm, and restoration. Spiritually, it carries the essence of serenity and trust. It reminds us to soften our grip on stress, quiet the mind, and create space for peace to emerge naturally.
For those living with migraines or nervous system overload, lavender symbolizes the importance of slowing down and allowing the body to receive support.
Strawberry Leaves – The Essence of Community and Generosity
Strawberry leaves embody heart-centred living, generosity, and kindness. They remind us that wellness often grows through simple acts of care—for ourselves and for others.
Like a healthy garden, our wellbeing flourishes when nurtured consistently and shared generously.
A Tea with a Greater Purpose
Mission4Change CommuniTEA also supports a larger mission.
A portion of the proceeds from every purchase helps support the Moyo Family, whose community faces significant challenges due to drought, food insecurity, lack of access to medicine, education, and stable shelter.
For many families, peace is not an abstract concept.
Peace means food on the table.
Peace means access to healthcare.
Peace means education and opportunity.
Peace means hope.
Every cup becomes an opportunity to contribute to meaningful change while creating a mindful moment of restoration in your own day.
As you enjoy your tea, take a moment to reflect on this affirmation:
“In community we are empowered for change.”
Sometimes self-care begins with a single cup.
Sometimes change does too.
Heart Art Magic: Healing Through Colour and Frequency
Marian Egan’s Heart Art Magic offers a beautiful example of how creativity can support wellness.
Through intuitive painting and frequency-based artwork, Marian creates visual experiences that invite reflection, relaxation, and self-discovery. Her artwork is designed to engage both the conscious and subconscious mind, encouraging viewers to notice what resonates, what draws their attention, and what messages may be emerging through colour, shape, and imagery.
Art has long been recognized as a pathway for emotional expression and stress reduction. Intuitive art takes this one step further by allowing us to explore healing without needing to “figure everything out.”
Sometimes a colour speaks.
Sometimes an image invites a memory.
Sometimes a painting becomes a doorway into deeper awareness.
For those navigating health challenges, intuitive art can provide a gentle and supportive way to reconnect with themselves, (the science of NeuroArts).
The Power of Wellness Card Decks
One of the easiest ways to create a daily self-care habit is through the use of wellness card decks.
Unlike traditional learning formats, card decks offer bite-sized guidance that can be used in just a few minutes each day.
Draw a card in the morning.
Reflect on the message.
Apply one simple action.
Allow awareness to unfold.
The decks created by Marian Egan, Tanya Levy, and Dr. Michelle Greenwell each offer unique pathways for personal growth and self-discovery.
Heart Art Magic Cards – Marian Egan
Marian’s cards combine imagery, intuition, colour, and personal reflection to help users access their own inner wisdom.
These cards are particularly valuable for those who connect with visual learning and creative exploration. They can be used for daily inspiration, meditation, journaling prompts, or personal insight. Marian also has a course for using the cards that can help you dive deeper.
It’s In The Cards – Tanya Levy with Michelle Greenwell and Paula Nowak Droog
It’s In The Cards deck provides practical wellness strategies that can be used individually or combined to create personalized self-care plans.
The cards encourage users to explore possibilities, experiment with new approaches, and discover combinations that support their unique needs.
The beauty of this deck is its flexibility. Whether you have five minutes or an hour, the cards provide simple actions that help create momentum toward wellbeing.
Affirmations for the BioField – Dr. Michelle Greenwell & Tanya Levy
The Affirmations for the BioField Deck combines nature photography, positive affirmations, and BioEnergetic Wellness principles to help users identify areas of support within the body and biofield.
Each card invites reflection, awareness, and intentional action. The deck can be used as a daily affirmation practice, an intuitive guidance tool, or as part of a broader wellness routine.
Users often find that the imagery speaks to them before they even read the message, creating opportunities for deeper insight and self-awareness.
You can find these decks in Tanya’s shop, as well as here at the Greenwell Center’s shop.

Building a Self-Care Habit That Lasts
One of the most important lessons we can learn is that wellness doesn’t have to happen all at once.
Small actions matter.
A daily card draw.
A five-minute reflection.
A mindful cup of tea.
A Tai Chi movement.
A moment of gratitude.
A pause to notice your breath.
These simple practices become the building blocks of resilience, awareness, and long-term wellbeing.
The card decks, intuitive art resources, and online courses available through the Greenwell Center provide accessible ways to begin that journey.
Whether you are navigating migraines, chronic stress, life transitions, or simply seeking greater balance, these tools offer opportunities to reconnect with yourself one day at a time.
