The Diamond Decade: What I’m Creating in My 60s

Steep with me for a moment… ☕💎

There is something wonderfully liberating about reaching a stage of life where clarity begins to outweigh urgency.

Turning 60 does not feel like an ending.

It feels like an opening.

A threshold.

A beautifully intentional invitation into what comes next.

For so much of life, we are building.

Learning.
Working.
Growing.
Responding.
Creating foundations.

And while all of that continues, there is a different kind of wisdom that begins to emerge with time.

A knowing.

A deeper trust in what matters.

A willingness to say yes more clearly—and no more gracefully.

As I sip a cup of Nature’s Diamonds tea, I find myself less focused on what I have done, and more inspired by what I am still here to create.

Because I believe some of our brightest chapters are not behind us.

They are waiting for our full attention.

Redefining What 60 Means

There are many stories society tells us about aging.

That life slows down.
That possibilities become smaller.
That dreams should become quieter.
That we have somehow “arrived” at a point where growth is no longer expected.

I disagree.

If anything, I feel more curious now than ever.

More aligned.

More intentional.

More connected to purpose.

Aging, to me, is not about diminishing.

It is about refinement.

The clarity to choose what truly matters.
The wisdom to protect your energy.
The confidence to trust your lived experience.
The freedom to create from authenticity rather than expectation.

This next decade is not about winding down.

It is about expanding into a deeper version of what feels meaningful.

What I Want to Create

One of the greatest gifts of reflection is discovering that there is still so much to dream into being.

And dreams, at any age, deserve action.

As I step into this next decade, I feel called to continue creating spaces where healing, education, movement, and self-empowerment can flourish.

That may look like:
✨ deeper retreats and immersive wellness experiences
✨ expanded online learning opportunities
✨ more teaching in Touch for Health, Tai Chi, and movement mastery
✨ continued podcast conversations that inspire possibility
✨ collaborative global conversations around wellness and resilience
✨ more writing, storytelling, and educational resources
✨ continued growth for the Cape Breton Tea Company
✨ creating meaningful experiences where tea, movement, nature, and wellbeing intersect

The vision is not about doing more simply to stay busy.

It is about creating what feels aligned.

Intentional.

Nourishing.

Meaningful.

The Legacy of Empowerment

Legacy can sound like such a big word.

But perhaps legacy is simply what remains in the lives we touch.

The conversations that shifted perspective.

The classes that created confidence.

The tools someone continued using long after the session ended.

The reminder that healing is possible.

The permission to trust oneself.

If there is one thing I hope to continue creating, it is empowerment.

Helping people reconnect with their own inner wisdom.

Their resilience.

Their body’s communication.

Their creativity.

Their ability to move through stress with more grace and awareness.

Their sense that they are not broken—but beautifully adaptable.

If the next decade deepens anything, I hope it is this.

Continuing to Learn

One of the most exciting things about this chapter is recognizing that learning never truly ends.

There are still books to read.

Conversations to have.

Techniques to explore.

Collaborations to create.

Perspectives to expand.

Adventures to say yes to.

I think curiosity may be one of the most underrated wellness practices.

Curiosity keeps us mentally flexible.

Emotionally engaged.

Open to possibility.

Youthful in spirit.

I want to continue learning—not because I need to prove anything, but because discovery brings joy.

Living with Greater Intention

One of the quiet shifts I feel in this decade is a stronger commitment to intentional living.

To asking:
What nourishes me?
What drains me?
What truly matters?
What feels aligned?
What no longer belongs?

This is a beautiful stage of life for simplification.

For clarity.

For releasing obligations that no longer fit.

For creating more space for joy, health, meaningful relationships, movement, creativity, and restorative pauses.

Not because life becomes easier.

But because wisdom helps us choose differently.

Tea, Ritual & Presence

Tea will absolutely remain part of this next chapter.

Not simply because I love tea—but because I love what tea represents.

Pause.

Connection.

Ritual.

Presence.

Hospitality.

Healing.

A simple cup can create an extraordinary moment.

A conversation.

A breath.

A reset.

Nature’s Diamonds feels especially symbolic in this season.

A reminder that brilliance is not something we achieve once.

It continues to be revealed.

Dreams Still Waiting

There are still dreams waiting patiently.

Projects not yet born.

Places I’d love to visit.

Experiences I want to create.

Conversations I hope to host.

People I hope to collaborate with.

Moments of beauty I have not yet imagined.

And perhaps the most exciting realization is this:

I do not need to have every detail figured out.

Only the willingness to keep listening.

An Invitation Into Your Next Chapter

As I celebrate this birthday, I want this conversation to be about more than my own next decade.

I want it to be an invitation for you, too.

No matter your age.

No matter your current season.

Ask yourself:

✨ What am I still dreaming about?
✨ What have I postponed that still matters?
✨ What do I want this next chapter to feel like?
✨ Where am I being invited to begin again?

Because becoming does not end.

Growth does not expire.

Purpose does not have an age limit.

And some of our most brilliant chapters begin when we finally choose them fully.

With anticipation and gratitude,
