with Ann-Marie Boudreau
The Be Well with Dr. Michelle Greenwell podcast is thrilled to welcome Ann-Marie Boudreau, ARCT—Sound Doula, multi-instrumentalist, improvisational vocalist, Reiki Master, and internationally acclaimed soundwork practitioner —for a transformative three-part trilogy exploring the power of sound, voice, and the synesthetic experience.
With over 40 years of experience teaching, performing, composing, and facilitating, Ann-Marie combines artistry, technical mastery, and spiritual depth. Trained as a classical concert pianist through the Royal Conservatory of Music, she has expanded her expertise to multiple instruments, improvisational vocal techniques, and soundwork practices. Her global explorations—including studies in India, work with First Nations communities, and decades of hospice, hospital, and palliative care experience—have shaped her unique approach: sound as medicine for the body, mind, and soul.
Ann-Marie’s mission is to help people reconnect with their inner voice, awaken their senses, and engage more fully with life. Through sound, she nurtures deep personal and spiritual transformation in ways that are gentle, embodied, and lasting.

This trilogy will guide listeners through three essential aspects of sound and healing:
Episode 1 — The Resonance Within: How Sound Shapes Health
Dive deep into the vibrational world of sound. Ann-Marie and Michelle explore:
- how sound affects the body, mind, and emotions on a visceral level
- the science of cymatics and the visual and physical effects of vibration
- why understanding and working with sound is critical for personal health and wellbeing
This episode introduces listeners to the profound ways sound moves through and interacts with our bodies.
Episode 2 — The Healing Voice: Who Holds the Power?
Sound is more than music—it is a tool for healing. In this episode, we examine:
- how the human voice can support transformation and restoration
- discovering who the healer truly is: the facilitator, the listener, or the one being healed
- practical ways to use voice and sound intentionally for wellness, emotional release, and spiritual growth
Ann-Marie shares insights from decades of bedside work, Voice Play workshops and improvisational practice, revealing how the voice can be a bridge to deep personal healing.
Episode 3 — Life in Color: The Synesthetic Experience of Sound
Sound is not just heard—it is felt, seen, and lived. This episode explores:
- how sound interacts with other senses throughout life, creating a synesthetic experience
- the connection between sound, colour, imagery, and emotion
- using sound to awaken dulled senses, enhance perception, and support wellbeing in aging or transitional moments
Here, Ann-Marie draws on her work in hospice, birth, and contemplative soundwork practice to illustrate how sound enriches our human experience from beginning to end of life.
