Create a weekly rhythm for relaxation, rejuvenation, and renewed wellbeing with Tai Chi Cape Breton. Explore our 2027 in-person schedule in Mabou, Inverness, Creignish, and Baddeck and discover how one consistent class each week can become an anchor for self-care.

Wellbeing is often built through the small things we return to consistently. A weekly Tai Chi class can become one of those anchors: a dedicated time to slow down, breathe more fully, move with awareness, and reconnect with how your body feels.

As we move into the fall and winter seasons, Tai Chi Cape Breton invites you to create a regular weekly habit that supports relaxation, rejuvenation, and the rediscovery of wellbeing. Rather than waiting until tension or fatigue builds, a consistent class gives you a place in your week to practise moving with greater ease, releasing unnecessary effort, and noticing the patterns your body is ready to change.

Why a Weekly Tai Chi Habit Matters

One class can feel wonderful. A regular practice creates something more: familiarity. Week by week, the movements become easier to recognize, the breath has more opportunity to settle, and the body can begin to explore balance, coordination, posture, mobility, and relaxation without rushing.

That consistency also creates a gentle rhythm of self-care. You do not have to wait for the perfect day or find extra motivation each time. Your class simply becomes part of the week — a place to arrive, move, connect with others, and give yourself time to reset.

Tai Chi is not about forcing the body to perform. It is an opportunity to become more curious about movement. Through slow, coordinated actions, weight shifts, spirals, breath, and attention, we practise listening to the body while discovering possibilities for greater ease. Over time, this can help turn wellbeing from something we think about into something we regularly experience and practise.

2027 Regular In-Person Schedule

Monday — Hillsborough/Glendyer Hall, Mabou

Time: 9:00–10:30 a.m.
Location: Hillsborough/Glendyer Hall, 4738 NS-252, Mabou, NS

Wednesday — Inverary Manor Music Room, Inverness

Time: 9:00–11:00 a.m.
Location: Inverary Manor Music Room, 72 Maple Street, Inverness, NS

Thursday — Creignish Hall, Creignish

Time: 11:45 a.m.–1:15 p.m.
Location: Creignish Hall, 2061 Ceilidh Trail, Creignish, NS

Saturday — Baddeck Public Library, Baddeck

Times: 9:00–10:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Location: Baddeck Public Library, 520 Chebucto Street, Baddeck, NS
Registration: baddeck@cbrl.ca or 902-295-2055

Your Weekly Appointment With Wellbeing

Fall and winter can easily become seasons of hurrying, sitting more, and putting our own care further down the list. Choosing one regular Tai Chi class is a simple way to change that pattern. It creates a recurring appointment to move, breathe, connect, and notice what your body needs.

Whether you are returning to Tai Chi or stepping into a class for the first time, you do not need to arrive already flexible, coordinated, or experienced. You begin where you are. The practice grows through repetition, curiosity, and the willingness to give yourself time each week.

Make this the season you create a wellness habit that gives something back to you. Let your weekly Tai Chi class be a place to relax, rejuvenate, reconnect with community, and rediscover the sense of wellbeing that can emerge when movement becomes part of how you care for yourself.

The Be Well with Dr. Michelle Greenwell podcast is thrilled to welcome Ann-Marie Boudreau, ARCT—Sound Doula, master musician, improvisational vocalist, Reiki Master, and internationally acclaimed sound practitioner—for a transformative three-part trilogy exploring the power of sound, voice, and the synesthetic experience.

With over 40 years of experience teaching, performing, composing, and facilitating, Ann-Marie combines artistry, technical mastery, and spiritual depth. Trained as a classical concert pianist through the Royal Conservatory of Music, she has expanded her expertise to multiple instruments, improvisational vocal techniques, and sound healing practices. Her global explorations—including studies in India, work with First Nations communities, and decades of hospice, hospital, and palliative care experience—have shaped her unique approach: sound as medicine for the body, mind, and soul.

Ann-Marie’s mission is to help people reconnect with their inner voice, awaken their senses, and engage more fully with life. Through sound, she nurtures deep personal and spiritual transformation in ways that are gentle, embodied, and lasting. You can learn more about Ann-Marie on her YouTube channel.

This trilogy will guide listeners through three essential aspects of sound and healing:

Episode 1 — The Resonance Within: How Sound Shapes Health

Dive deep into the vibrational world of sound. Ann-Marie and Michelle explore:

how sound affects the body, mind, and emotions on a visceral level

the science of cymatics and the visual and physical effects of vibration

why understanding and working with sound is critical for personal health and wellbeing

This episode introduces listeners to the profound ways sound moves through and interacts with our bodies.

Episode 2 — The Healing Voice: Who Holds the Power?

Sound is more than music—it is a tool for healing. In this episode, we examine:

how the human voice can support transformation and restoration

discovering who the healer truly is: the facilitator, the listener, or the one being healed

practical ways to use voice and sound intentionally for wellness, emotional release, and spiritual growth

Ann-Marie shares insights from decades of bedside work, sound healing workshops, and improvisational practice, revealing how the voice can be a bridge to deep healing.

Episode 3 — Life in Color: The Synesthetic Experience of Sound

Sound is not just heard—it is felt, seen, and lived. This episode explores:

how sound interacts with other senses throughout life, creating a synesthetic experience

the connection between sound, colour, imagery, and emotion

using sound to awaken dulled senses, enhance perception, and support wellbeing in aging or transitional moments

Here, Ann-Marie draws on her work in hospice, birth, and contemplative sound practice to illustrate how sound enriches our human experience from beginning to end of life.

Tea for the Occasion

For this special series we share the powerful blends of the Natalie MacMaster Set. Episode 1 begins with the Autograph helping us to find our true gifts and magnify the gifts of others by inspiring the sharing and connection of healing and sound. Episode 2 takes us to the traditional Orange Pekoe tea in the Fit as a Fiddle blend that brings us back to the heart of music to support our daily journeys. In Episode 3 we get ready to celebrate with the Kitchen Party green tea. A fun blend, this helps to bring the synesthetic experience forward as we connect to the vibrant purple colour of this tea. To prepare for the series, you can purchase the three blends in the shop…and get ready to bring the magic of herbs and intention into your healing experience with the podcast.

A Trilogy for Healing, Awareness & Transformation

This series is for anyone curious about sound healing, musicians seeking deeper insight into their craft, wellness practitioners exploring energetic modalities, or anyone longing to reconnect with their inner world. Ann-Marie’s life and work embody a bridge between science, spirituality, and artistry, offering listeners a rare opportunity to explore sound as medicine, voice as healer, and perception as transformation.

Stay tuned for the release of Episode 1!
