<p>Have you ever picked up a paintbrush and felt your whole body soften? Or looked at a colour and instantly felt more grounded, energized, or at ease? That’s not just creativity at work — it’s <em>science</em>.</p>



<p>This week we begin an extraordinary 16-week journey with the <strong>Magnifying Peace Project</strong>, and our very first video release is led by artist and intuitive guide <strong>Marian Egan</strong>, founder of <em>Heart Art Magic</em>. In her video, Marian paints her <strong>vision of peace</strong>, letting colour, movement, and emotion guide her hand. It’s not just a painting — it’s a <strong>peace practice</strong> in action.</p>

<p>Research shows that colour stimulates the <strong>limbic system</strong>, the part of the brain that regulates <strong>emotion, memory, and behavior</strong>. Different colours evoke different responses:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f499.png" alt="💙" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> <strong>Blue</strong> can lower heart rate and calm anxiety.</li>



<li><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f49a.png" alt="💚" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> <strong>Green</strong> is associated with harmony and balance.</li>



<li><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f496.png" alt="💖" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> <strong>Pink</strong> promotes compassion and care.</li>



<li><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f49b.png" alt="💛" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> <strong>Yellow</strong> can lift mood and spark creativity.</li>
</ul>



<p>When we consciously engage with colour — through painting, visual art, or even clothing — we’re using a <strong>non-verbal language</strong> to process emotions, reset the nervous system, and return to center.</p>

<p>According to a 2016 study published in <em>Art Therapy: Journal of the American Art Therapy Association</em>, just <strong>45 minutes of creative activity</strong> significantly reduces cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone — regardless of skill level or experience.</p>



<p>Art isn’t about being perfect. It’s about:</p>

<li>Slowing down</li>



<li>Accessing intuition</li>



<li>Processing emotion safely</li>



<li>Creating new neural pathways for peace and healing</li>
</ul>



<p>When Marian paints with <strong>both hands</strong>, she activates both hemispheres of the brain — creating an integrated experience that enhances focus, creativity, and a deep sense of <strong>presence</strong>.</p>

<p>This is how peace starts.<br>Not in policy. Not in perfection.<br>But in a quiet moment with colour, breath, and intention.</p>

<p>In a world of rapid change, unrelenting stress, and constant information overload, the idea of peace often feels distant—if not impossible. But what if peace wasn’t something we had to find “out there”? What if peace could begin within each of us, as a daily, intentional act?</p>



<p>This project invites each of us to step into a space of reflection, creativity, and connection, and to become active participants in cultivating peace—not only for ourselves but for our families, communities, and the planet. <p>Despite living in an era with more access to wellness tools than ever before, <strong>stress, anxiety, and emotional disconnection</strong> are rising.</p>



<p>According to the <strong>American Psychological Association’s Stress in America Survey (2023)</strong>:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>76%</strong> of adults reported experiencing health impacts from stress.</li>



<li><strong>27%</strong> feel they lack emotional support.</li>



<li><strong>More than 70%</strong> feel overwhelmed by global issues, including violence and climate change.</li>
</ul>



<p>Similarly, a <strong>Gallup Global Emotions Report (2022)</strong> found that <strong>negative emotions have reached a record high worldwide</strong>, with rising rates of sadness, worry, and anger.</p>



<p>These statistics show a clear truth:<br><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f53a.png" alt="🔺" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> <strong>We are not at peace.</strong><br><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f53b.png" alt="🔻" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> And yet, we are yearning for it.</p>

<li><strong>If people support this project, what might they cultivate within themselves?</strong><br>→ Clarity, resilience, self-compassion, and a sense of purpose—these are the outcomes of choosing peace consistently and courageously.</li>

<p>Each month of the project features a tea blend to accompany the journey. For the launch, we’ve chosen <strong><a href="https://greenwellcenter.com/product/the-autograph-herbal-tea/" title="The Autograph">The Autograph</a></strong>, part of the <em>Natalie MacMaster Signature Collection</em> from the Cape Breton Tea Company.</p>



<p>This blend includes:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Peppermint</strong> – Clears the mind, supports breath and digestion, encourages mental presence and focus.</li>



<li><strong>Rose</strong> – Opens the heart, supports emotional release, and nurtures a deep sense of love and connection.</li>

<p>Most people understand self-care as doing something pleasant for themselves—going for a walk, taking a nap, or booking a massage. These are valuable moments, but when done without intention or consistency, they don&#8217;t lead to transformation.</p>



<p>Research published in <em>Health Psychology Open</em> (2018) emphasizes that <strong>self-care is not a one-time activity, but a proactive, ongoing process</strong> involving self-awareness, personal responsibility, and skill-building to maintain health and well-being.</p>



<p>Enter <strong>self-respect</strong>.</p>

<p>Self-respect involves honoring your values, your body’s needs, and your time. It means choosing nourishment over numbness, alignment over avoidance. When you respect yourself, you make <strong>decisions that prioritize long-term health</strong>—not just comfort in the moment.</p>



<p>As Marian Egan shared, her <strong>Self-Respect card</strong> holds a frequency that aligns with this deeper vibration. When you activate self-respect, your energy field changes. You start making different choices—not out of obligation, but out of love.</p>



<p>Before creating a self-care plan, Marian suggests exploring daily <strong>self-respect activities</strong>:</p>

<p>Together, these herbs <strong>nurture clarity, courage, and consistent energy</strong>—ideal for those wanting to take ownership of their health journey.</p>
