Celebrating Cape Breton’s Legacy with Two New Nourishing Tea Blends

Cape Breton Island is a land of rich history, resilience, and creativity. From groundbreaking innovation to maritime traditions, the spirit of discovery has shaped this vibrant community. At Cape Breton Tea Company, we are excited to introduce two new blends that pay tribute to this legacy—1909 First Flight over Baddeck Bay and 1713 Louisbourg—each crafted with thoughtfully selected ingredients that offer both incredible flavor and powerful wellness benefits.

1909 First Flight over Baddeck Bay

This blend is inspired by the first powered flight in Canada, which took place in Baddeck, Nova Scotia, in 1909. Led by Alexander Graham Bell’s research team, this monumental event celebrated human ingenuity and the pioneering spirit that still thrives today.

Mabel Bell, a strong supporter of this historic moment, served Raspberry Lemon Shrub at the occasion. To honor this tradition, we have blended Puerh tea with raspberry and lemon, creating a cup filled with bold, earthy richness and a refreshing citrus burst.

Health Benefits:

Puerh Tea: Known for its probiotic properties, Puerh tea supports gut health and digestion, helping to balance the microbiome and promote detoxification. It also contains antioxidants that aid in reducing inflammation and supporting cardiovascular health.

Raspberry: Packed with vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants, raspberries help boost immune function, skin health, and digestion.

Lemon: A powerhouse of vitamin C and citric acid, lemon is excellent for immune support, hydration, and digestion. It also enhances iron absorption, which is essential for energy production.

1713 Louisbourg

The historic port of Louisbourg became an essential hub for shipping fish to France in the early 18th century. With strong European influences, tea culture became an integral part of daily life, blending local herbs and imported black tea. Our 1713 Louisbourg blend celebrates this heritage with a bold black tea infused with lavender, chamomile, and rose—a combination that brings both relaxation and vitality.

Health Benefits:

Black Tea: Rich in flavonoids, black tea is known to support heart health, reduce oxidative stress, and improve mental clarity. The natural caffeine content provides a gentle energy boost without the jitters.

Lavender: A well-known herb for stress relief and relaxation, lavender promotes better sleep, mood balance, and nervous system support.

Chamomile: Soothing and anti-inflammatory, chamomile is widely used to support digestion, calm anxiety, and improve sleep quality.

Rose: Naturally rich in vitamin C and polyphenols, rose petals enhance skin health, digestion, and overall vitality.

A Celebration of Renewal and Resilience

As winter fades and the island awakens to the fresh energy of spring, these new blends reflect the power of herbs and tea to rejuvenate the body and spirit. Whether you seek the grounding benefits of Puerh, the uplifting brightness of raspberry and lemon, or the calming floral notes of lavender and chamomile, these teas are crafted to bring warmth and nourishment to your cup.
