Raising BioEnergetic Awareness

A Path to Enhanced Well-Being

Welcome to the “Raising BioEnergetic Awareness” program, a transformative initiative designed to deepen your understanding of the body’s energy systems and their profound impact on health and wellness. This unique program, developed by Dr. Michelle Greenwell and colleague, Natascha Polomski, combines the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the insights of bioenergetic science, and the practical application of energy-based techniques. It’s tailored to individuals seeking to enhance their well-being, practitioners looking to expand their toolbox, and anyone interested in the intersections between energy and health.

“Raising BioEnergetic Awareness” offers an in-depth exploration of how energy dynamics within the body influence our physical, emotional, and mental health. Participants will learn how to perceive, assess, and modulate their bioenergetic field, leading to improved health outcomes, increased vitality, and a deeper sense of harmony within themselves and their environments.

This course can be taken for personal interest or for academic credits. Akamai University recognizes this course in their CAM degree programs.

Module A – Exploring Energy (3 Credits)

Awareness of our wellbeing and our initial feelings in a situation are key to understanding the energetic shifts that can happen to bring imbalance and blocked flow to living. When we raise our awareness of what the senses are providing us moment by moment, in situations and experiences, we can begin to understand how our feelings, emotions, physical reactions and connections with others can be transformed. In this exploratory course we will be identifying our ways of knowing, the pattern of belief and thoughts that shift our focus away from wellbeing and how to engage in an energetic and intentional way. Each experiential exercise will explore a concept and create an opportunity for journaling for further insight. Concepts include brain and body connections, the power of compassion, the use of the breath within exercises, centering and grounding, reflective journaling, the connection of spine and emotions, and perceptions.

Learning Objective 1

Explore your awareness through the 5 senses and other ways of knowing and identify how this knowledge enhances all aspects of life, especially your disciplines and work.

Learning Objective 2

Describe the key concepts, principles, theory, interventions, assessment, and clinical evaluations of RBEA in your discipline.

Learning Objective 3

Demonstrate competency in the application of RBEA in your personal and professional life in regard to self, others, and situations.

Course Topics

• Sensing Energy
• Centering
• Reflective Journaling
• Grounding
• Intention
• Exploring Impact of Emotions

Energetic Self-Care

Energetic Self Care extends past initial awareness and engagement of the senses. With explorations in biofeedback through muscle monitoring we begin to listen to the needs of the body for optimum balance and flow. The experiential work with intention, sound, color and movement in combination with biofeedback will open the awareness to a better understanding of energetic influences. Vision mapping, tea with intention, and infusing objects with energy are special activities to provide living examples of how this approach can be used for a fuller, more optimized level of self-care.

Learning Objective 1

Explore beyond mindfulness through biofeedback tools how their enhanced awareness will change their self-care, wellbeing and every day interactions and activities.
